Silk Elements MegaSilk Heat Protection Spray

Promises: Helps protect from heat damage. Use with flat irons, blow-dryer, or any heated appliance, provides a luxurious shine.

Directions: Spray on damp hair before drying or spray on dry hair before using any heated styling appliance.

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Neopentyl Glycol Diethylhexanoate, Diisopropyl Sebacate, Diisopropyl Adipate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycin namate, Ethyl Ester of Hydrolyzed Silk, Fragrance(Parfum), Benzyl Salicylate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Hydroxyisohexyl 3 -Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Limonene, Eugenol, Citronellol, Hydroxycitronellal, Coumarin.

The Truth: After many recommendations, I decided to purchase this product. I used this on both wet & dry hair and it NEVER leaves your hair weighed down, unlike some other heat protectants. The product is so light, very similar to how an oil sheen goes on your hair. It's like a light mist. The smell is kind of perfum-y but it gives your hair a nice salon finished scent. The silk proteins really infuse the hair shaft and make your flat iron come out silky smooth. I got absolutely NO FRIZZIES. This heat protectant is very good.

Price: $6.49 CAD

Hairlicious Rating: (4/5) Very Good

  3. hey!
i stop by your blog periodically.
i appreciate the info. very helpful :-)

was curious to know: 1)if you exercise regularly and 2) how does that affect your hair regimen?

i exercise regularly & wanted to know if you knew of products that would be especially helpful.

  4. @ HairAMania - I love the smell too.

@ Aramide - Let me know how you like it.

@ Luvlylayd - I do not exercise regularly as I should. I don't think that it would change my regimen much since I wash so frequently.

There are no particular products to recommend for a physically active person. There are certain practises that you can adapt into your hair regimen. Since you exercise frequently its best to co-wash (use a cheap moisturizing conditioner) your hair to remove any sweat from the scalp and keep your hair moisturized. Shampoo is not necessary. You can air dry down or in a bun.

    Hope that helps
