The Truth: Finally!! Okay, I've been secretly itching to try this shampoo for a while now based on the good reviews that I've read. I pretty much have my staple shampoo's, however, I wanted to try this one out to see how it compares to the original shampoo and if I could recommend it to other folks.

I'm shocked to say that you can't even tell that this is a sulfate shampoo. It detangled, cleansed and moisturized my hair all in one shot. The creamy liquid easily penetrated and melted my tangles away effortlessly. This shampoo restored my natural moisture balance and smoothed out my cuticles allowing them to lay flat preventing dryness & flyaways. After drying my hair with the t-shirt method, my hair literally felt soft and silky :-)

It was very gentle on my hair despite the fact that it contains the sodium laureth sulfate detergent (since you barely recognize it, I don't know why they added it). Overall, I was extremely pleased with the results I achieved with this shampoo. I would highly recommend it.

  1. I love love love CON <3 For a bazillion years when I went to the salon whenever they washed my hair it turned out soft instead of tangled, and I always wondered why. I was always wondering what sort of magical shampoo they used, and when I found out of CON I died a little of happiness. So affordable and quality.

  2. I was extremely upset when they changed the formulation...and out of sheer stubborness I refused to try it. But thanks for the review, I might just go ahead and get it, my stash of the old formula is just about gone!

  4. OMG...I used this Sunday for the first time..for some reason my hair got really tangled using the aphogee shampoo..i used this right after and it detangled right away and made my hair sooo soft! It lathers so well and is just the best..I love this shampoo..it truly does not seem like it has an ounce of sulfates in it..

  5. Although it may not seem like a sulfate shampoo it is. These chemical as you discussed should be avoided if possible. Yes they added additional ingredients to give it slip, but it just a cover up to the harsh chemicals going in your hair. I just think consistency is key and not loose touch to the slip factor.

  6. Thanks for the review Sunshyne. It's just disappointing that CON started putting SLS in their shampoo....(sigh)

  7. Well I tried to use it and it is not the same. My hair is past my bra strap. It does not detangle anymore,(very coarse hair) im am super disappointed. it may work for short hair because theres not much to detangle. I have more than ten family members with coarse hair and they have also stopped buying CON. It doesnt do the job for them anymore either.
