Truth: Since the beginning of my hair journey, I've always been curious about Humecto. It was literally one of  the top moisturizing conditioners among my fellow hair journey buddies on the black hair forums back in 2007. Although this conditioner was so popular, many complained of the 8-16oz bottles being watery in comparison to the 5lb tub. Since the tub was no where to be found in Canada at the time, I completely disregarded the conditioner and continued on my journey. Last year, to my surprise, I found the 5lb tub and I've used it for close to a year. I had hit and miss results with it, in addition, the conditioner was somewhat thin in consistency (old ingredients) even though everyone said that the conditioner in the tub was thicker. I guess that's why I never wrote a review until now. This new tub that I recently purchased, however, is definitely something to write about :) The ingredients are extremely different from the original and I can honestly say that it's for the BETTER!! This new batch is Thick! Creamy! Goes on Smooth! and leaves my 4b hair and coarse new growth feeling incredibly moist and soft! Anything that can soften my new growth is a gem! I enjoy using it so much that I just can't wait until wash day. Yes, its that good. I'm sold on the new formula. Humecto will be in my rotation for a while :)

Pros:
  • No Mineral Oil
  • No Parabens
  • More Natural Extracts
  • Thicker
  • Creamier
  • Very Moisturizing
  • pH balance 4.5
Cons:
  • Price (tub lasts very very long)

Price: $49 CAN 5lb Tub

Hairlicious Rating:   (5/5) Excellent

    1. Hi Keisha, I haven't looked at the smaller bottles to compare, however it could be a possibility that the new ingredients are only in the 5lb tub. Sorry hun. Try talking to the company directly to see if they can help: http://www.avlon.com/humecto1.html

    1. Hi Nay,

I would say Keracare Humecto DC!! Mizani moisturefuse is not as moisturizing.
