Before and After Trim Results - Flat Ironed Hair

Remember my post about my New Hoshi Shears? Well I finally got a chance to trim my ends (with the help of my sister - of course!).

Let me be the first to tell you that these shears are absolutely wonderful! To my surprise, they sliced through my hair with ease, not to mention they left behind a crisp, clean and blunt hemline making my ends appear fuller and thicker.

These shears definitely lived up to their promises. They are made for wet/dry blunt cutting and that's exactly what I experienced.  I'm so pleased with my trim and new shears.

Check out my results below!

These are my ends after 6 months of not trimming.

These are my ends after trimming with my new Hoshi shears. I was a tad bit nervous so we didn't trim off a lot :)

How often do you trim your ends? Do you trim on schedule or whenever you see thinness/split ends?

    1. Aww thanks love!! Yes them shears are the bomb.com!! I always went to the salon for trims. Years ago, I had a pair from Folica but I didn't use it as I was scared of the blade being dull. LOL

  2. Your ends are great and I don't think you need to trim, just dust it a bit. My trimming schedule is on a monthly basis but I'm trying to go on a 3month stretch before trimming or dusting my ends. Hopefully I learn to keep my shears out of sight. Loved your post on 'growing out your nape'.
    I'm at that point now.

    1. Thanks Jan! Yeah, I have to agree with you. Trimming is slightly addicting. I've hid my shears so that I don't go overboard. I think trimming ever 3-6 months, depending on your ends, should be sufficient.

  3. Furthermore since I cut off my bone relaxed ends, thinning ends belong to the past now. Once a month, I take out time to search for split ends or single strand knots. If they're visible, I trim them off ASAP but since I started incorporating the use of regular protein treatments on a weekly basis, split ends and single strand knots have been reduced to the barest minimum. Just the odd strand or two.

    1. That's great to hear!! I incorporated protein once a week in my regimen years ago and I never looked back. It was the best thing for my relaxed hair. Thanks for sharing!!

  6. Your hair didn't look bad at all after 6 months. Love the thickness though, definitely some inspiration. And it looks like you're grazing waist length too!
