When I stretch my relaxers, which is usually between 10-12 weeks, I like to do as little as possible with my hair to prevent unnecessary breakage. Low manipulation is key. My hair is full of new growth and it get's somewhat difficult to style at times, especially when I'm on the go.
A while ago, I purchased a half wig called "Tammy" in Natural Black (1B). You can get it from your local beauty supply store. I love and adore this wig. It's full of texture, volume and has a realistic length, so you wouldn't necessarily think it's fake. I wear two styles with this wig; the one you see in the photo above and another style with a muff in the front.
To achieve the look I did in these photos, I left a small section of hair out in the front. After I moisturized and sealed, I braided the hair (not too tight, but not too loose, you want your hair to match the waves in the wig so it blends in nicely). I then unravel the braid in the morning, put the rest of my hair in a bun and baggy my ends. I then cover the rest of my hair in a stocking cap and apply the wig. I blend my unbraided hair with the half wig until it looks uniform. That's it. It's a quick and simple style that brings a lot of compliments and my hair is protected and moisturized underneath. Lately, it's been my go-to style while I stretch.
