Today I decided to clarify my hair since I haven't done so in over a month and a half. Isn't that bad? I know..I'm ashamed to say it especially when I use products on a day-to-day basis that contain silicone.
The Drama: As of late, my hair has been dry, brittle, unresponsive to products, straw looking. Just a hot MESS!!!!
So I pulled out my Ion Clarifier, lathered twice letting it sit on my hair for about 2mins each time. I made sure I focused on my ends because I want a clean slate. Then I followed up with my trusty Creme of Nature Detangling Shampoo, lathered twice as well. I followed up with some Creme of Nature Porosity Control Conditioner for 3 mins with a plastic cap. I rinsed that out then proceeded to Deep condition my hair under heat for 45mins on medium.
The Cure:
- 5 tsp of Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol
- 4 tsp of Hot Six Oil
- 1 Cap ful of Castor Oil (for added softness since my hair felt rough to the touch)
The Results: Fabulous buttery soft hydrated hair! My SE MC never fails me =]
My Tip: If you use silicone based products often, remember to clarify at least once a month to ensure that your hair is free of build up and your products can penetrate the hair. Oh and don't forget to clarify your ends!!

Check out my quick video on How I Air Dry My Hair straight. I get this question all the time and I figured a video would help. My technique is very simple to follow. I've been air drying my hair like this for quite some time now (over a yr) and it has allowed me to stay away from direct heat.
Hope this helps,

Promises: Enriched with natural botanical extracts, oat protein, vitamins, egg proteins and olive oil to intensively conditions, moisturizes and strengthens damaged and over processed hair. It renews weak fragile hair, leaving it healthy looking with shine, elasticity and moisture.
Directions: After shampooing with Vitale Olive Oil Breeze Shampoo, rub ample amount of Vitale Olive Oil Hair Mayonnaise into palms and spread evenly from root to tip of hair. Massage hair and scalp gently for even distribution. For excellent results cover hair in a warm towel or a plastic cap for 10mins. Rinse hair thoroughly with warm water and style as desired.
Ingredients: Water, Olive Oil, Hydrolyzed Oat Protein, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Polyquarternium-32, Dicetyldimonium Chloride, Cetyl Alcohol, Lanolin, DL Panthenol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Menthol, Camphor, Cholesterol, Benzophenone-4, Tocopherol Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Egg Protein, Carrot Oil, TeaTree Oil, Kukui Nut Oil, Parsley Flakes, Extract of Arnica Montana Flower, Centella Asiatica, Nettle, Peppermint Leaf, Capsicum Annuum and Cochlearia, Horseradish, Propylene Glycol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, FD&C Yellow No.5(CI 19140), FD&C YellowNo.6(CI 61565), FD&C Blue No.1(CI 42090), Fragrance.
The Truth: This is a great light protein conditioner that can be used weekly. I've been using it since March '09 & It does an excellent job of strengthening my hair to a point where it's strong yet soft. It's very creamy & slippy upon rinsing it out (great for detangling), which is a surprise since most protein conditioners are not like that. The peppermint and the menthol leave a nice tingling sensation in your scalp. It reminds me of the Cathy Howse Deep Conditioner. This conditioner has the 3 main components in it 1. Protein 2. Oils to lubricate the hair 3. Stimulants. I instantly notice the thickness in my hair every time I use it. It's a keeper. I use it as a prepoo with heat on dry hair.
I will be using this light protein conditioner as part of the Protein Is My BFF Club on Hairlista.com

I'm 5 weeks post relaxer today (started the challenge at 3 wks post). I must say that I have been slacking off simply because my schedule is getting more and more hectic lately. So instead of me doing the Advance Level in the challenge, (applying JBCO to my scalp 3 times a week) I was doing it maybe once or so a week (SMH, I know it's bad).
Well that's all going to change right about now. It's a wrap!! I'm taking this up a notch and really getting into it. I loved my results last time so I'm re-instating my commitment to apply the JBCO to my scalp, 3x/week. I have about 5 more weeks until I relax (maybe 6 if I stretch a little) so I have a lot of work to put in since time is going to fly.
