Promises: Superior Hold and Shine. Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Edge Control is perfect for control of your edges! This non-sticky, non-greasy formula allows for an excellent hold without hardening your hair.

Directions: Apply to desired area and smooth with fingertips for desired hold.

Ingredients: Aqua, Cetereth-25, Peg-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Propylene Glycol, Peg-7 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycerin, Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Parfum (Fragrance), Benzyl Benzoate, Citronellol, d-Limonene, Eugenol, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Lilial, Linalool, Methyl Ionone Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Dmdm Hydantoin.

The Truth: This pomade is by far absolutely amazing! I love it dearly. I was introduced to it this past summer by my sister. I used it a couple times to slick down my edges and it did exactly that and more! I had incredible shine and long lasting hold. For some odd reason, it went missing a couple weeks back! I misplaced it somewhere in my house and for WEEKS I went around searching for this product because I was stretching my relaxer. I was craving the hold and slickness I get from this product that I really don't experience anywhere else. Lo and behold it shows up out of the blue today and I used it early this morning. I was in awe again :) The hold I get from this edge control is like no other. It does not compare to Elasta QP Glaze. In my opiniton Elasta QP Glaze is horrible since the hold is not strong at all (wears off within hours), it's oily and it runs down onto your face causing you to look and feel greasy. Yuck!

Edge control has a strong firm "grip" on the hair to the point where your hair feels locked in place, yet, there's no white crusty residue or hardness. It does exactly what it says it's supposed to do. It's my "go-to" product I use now while stretching my relaxer. When I use it, it's looks as if I'm 2-3 weeks post relaxer as opposed to 8 weeks (which is what I am at this present moment).

Tip:
Do not leave this product out in the open without the lid on as the quality of the product can diminish quickly and it won't work as effectively.

Hairlicious Rating:
(5/5) Excellent

  1. I am so glad you did a review on this product. I have been trying to figure out which of the edge control products are the best. It seems that there are so many edge control products coming to light recently. I also agree that EQP Glaze makes my scalp and forehead greasy-looking. Hold not great. Definitely interested.

I hope others have better luck

  3. Great review! I really liked this product at first but then it seemed to not work as well. I think its because I left the cap off too long at one point and it just changed the consistency.

  4. Thanks for your review! I bought this product several months ago and have been using it successfully. Please tell me if you prefer to use it in the mornings, at the start of your day to slick down your edges, or in the evenings before tying down your hair. I haven't quite figured out which would be best and I'd love your feedback. It seems like it makes sense to apply to my edges then tie down with a scarf, but I'm nervous about getting it on my scarf :-/

  5. @LaQT-- You're so right. EQP Glaze has no standing power in comparison to ORS Edge Control. I'm glad I was able to help.

@LalaHanna-- Sorry to hear that :(

@EbonyCP-- Yes, its best to leave the lid on at all times or else the quality of the product goes downhill and it won't give you that nice hold.

@Rukiyat-- I'm glad you like it. It's great. I prefer to use it in the mornings before I leave the house. I get the best hold.

  9. I have been looking at this for so long! Every time I go in the bss I go look at it an debate whether to get it or not...lol I think after this review I will give it a try....I am natural and it is the hardest thing to get my curly baby hair to lay down in the front...I used to use let's jam...but was too greasy and caused major build up for me...hopefully with this I see great results!

  12. Really good and smells nice but only downside is the white/greyish residue? :/ :( is there any way to avoid or minimise this?

  13. @AAriel & Anonymous - I don't get the residue I guess since I don't use it back-to-back. I'll use it one day and then a few days later use it again. Also, I apply it to freshly washed hair. If you have a lot of product build up on the hair, then it will create a white residue. HTH

  14. doesn't work well enough. The old isn't firm and the area where it is applied turns oily.
