Mane N Tail Detangler - The Tangles and Knots Solution
Sunday, June 06, 2010Promises: Now you can discover the secret behind luxuriously silky, healthy hair. Our exclusive pH balanced detangler formula is easy to use and helps eliminate tangles and knots and the appearance of dry split ends while adding additional conditioning and styling benefits. Your hair becomes easily manageable with a rich and luxurious shine.
Directions: Liberally spray Mane 'n Tail Detangler onto dry or damp hair. Work formula through, making sure it covers and reaches all of the hair. DO NOT RINSE OUT. Comb out hair with a large tooth comb or brush. Results are a super slip that allows hair to respond to styling effortlessly. Style as usual.
Ingredients: Water, Dimethicone, PEG 7 Amodimethicone, Horsetail Leaf Extract, Chaprarral Extract, Colts Foot Flower Extract, Horse Chestnut Seed Extract, Meadowsweet Flower Extract, Clover Flower Extract, Fragrance, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Trideceth-6.
The Truth: This is the first detangler I've ever tried so my opinion may be a little bias. Sorry. This product did EVERYTHING it said it would. The promises were fulfilled. I sprayed it directly on my new growth, just before relaxer day. PLEASE don't try this at home. I took a risk because the next say was my relaxer day and I REFUSED to relax my new growth with tangles and end up with breakage. So I sprayed it in my dry 12 week post new growth. I let it sit for a few mintues and then I began detangling with a wide tooth comb. Honestly, I never witnessed my tangles and knots melt so fast. My hair felt very soft afterward. I combed my hair from root to tip with ease!! This solution gave my hair incredible slip & moisture even until the next day. Guess what? When I relaxed (with ORS Olive Oil Lye Normal Strength Relaxer), I didn't burn NOT ONE BIT. Now I don't mind stretching my relaxers to 12 weeks because I have a solution = Mane 'n Tail Detangler!!!
Tips: I highly recommend this detangler for children, transitioners and naturals who frequently experience knots and tangles.

I ran out and bought this a few months ago based on the excellent reviews I read. EVERYTIME I've used this detangler my hair comes out in clumps! I don't know why, but I don't use it anymore though. :(
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem always heard everyone sing it's praises...my hair is just like hmm meh....it doesn't detangle my hair AT ALL
DeleteYes...Mane N Tail is the truth! I started using it on my hair back in November '09. I was 12 weeks post and omg it made my new growth so manageable! I only use it the day before i relax and have been doing so since November. I love it. I also have a review of this on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI started using this when I ran out of my Silken Child Detangler and it works wonders for me. It allowed my to stretch to 16 weeks and still do rollersets at week 15! It's one of my staples and will be helping me go at least 20 weeks this summer.
ReplyDeletei love this stuff.. i'm on my 15 week of stretching and its helped me to maintain my braidouts.. my hair gets real tangled at this point.. but this stuff melts it away. Does anyone know if this has any protein in it?
ReplyDeleteoh NOW you tell me once I'm in my protective style. lol. Maybe I'll give this a try after my BC
ReplyDeleteOkay. Okay...*running to the store*
ReplyDeletethis is definitely staple in my regimen! i rarely have the need to use it BUT without it i would NEVER be able to get through my girls' hair!!
ReplyDeletei mean i COULD, but it would be a very unpleasant experience for them.
so YES, this will be a static product in my home until they (lord forbid) change the formula LOL
thanks for the review sunshyne!
Thanks for this! My 11 week stretch came to a close 2 days ago and my new growth was so tangled. I'm extremely tenderheaded so detangling and parting my hair while basing it left me with a sore scalp :( I'll be sure to try this out when I relaxer after my next stretch.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I'm a man who used this product. I read a lot of articles stating that you cannot comb out dreadlocks; you supposedly have to cut your hair completely off and regrow it to a new style. I didn't want to do that, so I kept researching the issue until I came across an article claiming that this product could be used to save some of your hair.
ReplyDeleteOnce I found out where I could buy it, I purchased it as well as their conditioner from a local beauty supply store. Prior to undertaking this process, I had already cut off approximately 8 inches of hair, but my hair was still well past my shoulders. I wanted to keep some length with my remaining hair to wear it curly instead of cutting it off and starting from scratch. I decided to cut it approximately 5-6 inches to allow room for breakage and cutting the remainder even as I combed through my hair, hoping to save at least 3-4 inches for my new curly style.
I followed the instructions on the detangler bottle, and as promised, it enabled me to comb out my locks and save a lot of my hair. Since I had a lot of individual locks, I had to do it over the course of two days, but I just sprayed them with conditioner each time to ensure that they weren't dry, waited a few minutes for it to soak in and was able to comb them out successfully. As a matter of fact, the barber that I went to had undergone a similar process, and he said that he wished he had used this product since he wasn't able to save as much of his hair.
With the remainder, I use it to spray and comb out my hair prior to washing and conditioning it. I wet my hair a little each morning, and although the conditioner doesn't state that it's leave-in conditioner, I do that anyway.
