The Truth: I decided to try this moisturizer out due to all the rave reviews it received on the net. I ultimately caved. After I purchased it and took approximately 3-4 weeks to arrive (not bad, however, it could have been quicker). I`ve been using this moisturizer on & off for the past 4-5 months and I can honestly say that I have a love/hate relationship with it :( At times, my hair would feel so moisturized and smooth, then when I apply it to my hair again, it`s just the opposite, hard dry hair plus breakage! I've used it on dry hair, damp hair, as a leave-in and as a moisturizer. After all of that, I've come to realize that this product works best for me as a moisturizer on semi damp hair. I think it`s best for locking in moisture, kind of like a mild-heavy sealant for the winter months. It`s unfortunate that this product did not agree with my hair. I really wanted to like it :(

Pros:
• Smells great. ( I got the Coconut Cream Scent)
• Nice shine.
• Light and creamy consistency
• Little goes a long way (product lasts long)

Cons:
• Quite pricey.
• Made my hair flat.
• Moisturized for a short period of time.
• Noticed breakage.

Chances are I would not purchase this product again, however, I haven't given up on the rest of the Bee Mine product line. I'm interested in trying the Deja Hair Milk. In fact, I placed an order a few days back, so it should be here soon!!

Price: $18.97 USD

Hairlicious Rating: (3/5) Okay

  1. Aw, I absolutely love this stuff. It's my fav moisturizer. Hopefully the Deja's Hair Milk will work better for you. I love it on my daughters hair. It's much lighter than the cream.

  2. Awww, it's a shame you didn't like it. I have it in the other scent and I think it's great. I also have the Deja's Hair Milk and I alternate between the two as using the Luscious would be too heavy for every day use. I love the smell of both.

Interested to see what you think of the Hair Milk when you've given it a try for a few months.

  3. @ Rauney - I have no idea why this moisturizer wasn't consistent with my hair. I guess it's true what they say, "what works for some, doesn't work for others". If it's lighter, it should work pretty well with my hair. LOL. Look at me I'm already predicting that it's going to work. We'll see how it turns out.

@ SimplyIntoMyHair - I know right?! SMH. Yeah, I'm excited to try the Deja Hair Milk. Just saying the name of the moisturizer it sounds so yummy. Thanks for the response.

  4. What's your favorite moisturizer? I'm new to this and so far everything I've tried is too heavy for my hair (even with my hair in a bun). I already had mizani coconut souffle and I'm not in love with it. I then tried elasta qp...way too heavy! I'm finding that the JBCO is also heavy to put on my hair so I'm trying to find another way to incorporate that. Any suggestions? I read somewhere that coconut oil can be used to moisturize (in place of moisturizer and sealing oil) since it actually penetrates hair. Thoughts?

  5. @Nikki - Hi Nikki. For my favourite moisturizer, check out this link: http://www.hairliciousinc.com/2010/11/why-i-scurl-no-drip-activator.html

If you are finding JBCO to be too thick, add another oil to dilute it i.e. evoo or coconut oil that way it's not so thick and heavy in your hair. You can always use JBCO as a prepoo or in your DC (deep conditioner) if you find it too heavy on your scalp/hair. Coconut oil is not a moisturizer. It does penetrate the hair though. 6. Hey pretty lady! I use Deja's Hair Milk -Sweet Peach and it is pretty good stuff. I use it in various ways from a leave-in to an additional moisturizer depending on what my hair needs. I love the sweet peach scent! I had put a request in for an 8oz size since at the time they only had that scent in a the trial size. The co-founder Tracey made a batch in sweet peach per my request although they no longer do special orders. The sweet peach she explained is made during the holidays. Talk about great customer service! I hope you like it or at least your gorgeous hair will agree with it. Be blessed! :o)

  8. You're welcome lady! One thing I forgot to mention is the hair milk is really light. My hair did not feel weighed down at all. One of the ingredients is aloe vera so it helped minimize shedding a little. I cannot say I would use it without applying an additional moisturizer though. I have 4a/b hair so it's constantly thirsty. I hope all the best for you too Sunshyne! *hugs*

  9. hi sunshyne what do you do if a product doesn't work for your hair and it's dry ,do you wash it out right away even if you just washed it .thanks

  10. @CBCLady - So you had to double up on your moisturizers when using this product? Hmmm. I have dry thirsty hair as well now I'm uncertain. LOL. However, my hair can't take heavy creme type moisturizers either, so we'll have to see. Thanks for the heads up hun.

  11. @Anonymous - If a product doesn't work for me, I use what works for my hair to combat the dryness. So, I'll go back to my regular moisturizer if I'm noticing a lot of dryness when testing a product.
