What does it do for the hair?

Behentrimonium Chloride is an excellent detangler typically found in conditioners, deep conditioners and leave-ins. It's build-up free, softens the hair and conditions each strand. It provides potent conditioning effects to smooth the cuticle.

  1. This is not accurate - Behentrimoniun chloride is actually an antistatic agent and does coat hair in order to perform this function. I have not seen scientific data to suggest that it does penetrate hair..........I would definitely like to know if you do as I would love to look at it. It is mostly used to coat hair and for smoothing the cuticle

    1. Thanks for the heads up. You're right, it is an antistatic agent that does not build up on the hair. It provides potent conditioning effects but it does not penetrate the hair (its been edited).

  3. Pantene Relaxed & Natural conditioner and UNA Intensive Protein Treatment have Behentrimonium Methosulfate. Does that Count?
