July 2009 Hit's and Misses

Well for me...

Hit:

1. S-Curl No Drip Activator as a leave-in conditioner! This stuff absorbs way better on wet hair leaving your hair incredibly soft, moisturized and fluffy when dry. Highly recommend for those with 4a/b/c texlaxed hair.

Revisit:
1. Aussie Moist as a co-wash. I adore this conditioner. I used to use it all the time early '08!! It's up there with Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship conditioner. I'm going to be using it for the Summer 2009 Co-wash Challenge on Hairlista.

What were your hits & misses for this month?

What about any revisits (products that worked well for you in the past & you tried it again with the same/better results)?

  3. I really enjoy visiting your website. I will be doing the big chop soon. When is the best time to do the big chop? I know you use relaxer, but I was hoping that others would reply.

  4. Hits: Avalon Organics Biotin B-Complex Thickening Conditioner. $6 for 14 oz. Adios @ high-priced MegaTek and Ovation. This stuff works incredibly. My strands are literally thicker and I've only used it for a month now. It doesn't just give the appearance of my hair being thicker, it is transforming my hair strands themselves. This is a gem.

Misses: Qhemet Biologics Olive & Honey Hydrating Balm. Words cannot express how horrible this product was on my relaxed hair.

S-Curl No Drip. I was looking for something to soften my NG during stretching and took your advice to try this product. I am SO glad I did, although the smell takes me back to my jheri curl days..

Herbal Essenses LTR Leave in. My hair loves this stuff. It moisturizes well and is a wonderful detangler.

Aphogee Keratin and Green Tea Reconstructor. My hair is very protein sensative, but it loves this stuff. I can use as much as I want without worrying about it making my hair hard.

Silk Elements Mega Cholestoral. Another recommendation from Sunshyne. Boy oh boy do I love this product. I didn't think I would since the consistency is so thin, but it moisturizes like nobody's business and detangling is a virtual breeze. I don't think I could continue stretching without this stuff.

    Misses:
Cold water rinses..Oh my goodness, it leaves my hair so hard and tangled!

  8. i picked up the silk elements megasilk leave-in moisturizing creme (whew! that's a mouthful)...too soon to tell whether it's a miss. It has so many good ingredients in it (castor oil, coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter to name a few). The only thing is that the consistency is rather thin, idk maybe it penetrates better that way? I try sealing it with olive oil, but i haven't drawn any final conclusions yet.

  9. @ YaHighness - Aussie Moist is the bomb! I heart it. Never thought of using it as a leave-in. Cool idea, thanks =]

@ Miss Alexis Shawn - The HE LTR conditioner is phenomenal. I love it too. Aussie moist and HE LTR conditioner are my staples for co-washes, they moisturize my 4b/c hair very well.

@ LaTonya - Thanks for visiting Hairlicious Inc. I'm glad you enjoy it. I think it's best to do the BC when you are good and ready. Transition for approx. 7-9 months and then continue to cut off the relaxed ends.

@ Anonymous - Wow, I'm going to look for this conditioner, because I can really recommend this conditioner to a lot of ladies who are looking for thicker hair. Thanks for sharing =]

@ Chocolatecream - Glad you found something that works for you~!

@ S-hair - Check walmart, they sell it.

@ Anonymous - I don't like cold water rinses either! I'm glad I'm not the only one. SE MC is the best for moisture and detangling. I'm 7 weeks post and my comb goes straight through my New growth.

@ Char - Thanks for sharing Char. The ingredients sound pretty good though, hope you end up liking it.
