I'm heading out to GNC to search out the EVCO. Can't wait to try this!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I just saw it an a couple of hours ago. I already do this and it works so well with my hair. I use EVCO for everything. It softens and strengthens for me, even after shampooing and dc. The effect lasted about a week, so I can not wait for tomorrow's wash day. I'm adding honey with it for an overnight prepoo :D
ReplyDeleteThank you SOOOOOOOOO much for sharing this with us, it's defenitly a very precious information you are providing us with!

I've been doing this for quite sometime now. I also DC on dry hair with various other oils. They all have their own benefits. I have a challenge on the site I go to most often, that includes deep conditioning with various oils. I'm glad to see this practice is being brought out more!
ReplyDeleteLol, interesting, I would refer to this as oiling as opposed to deep conditioning. I'm a huge proponent of coconut oil because it is quite well supported by science. I don't think the saran wrap is necessary nor is it necessary to wash it out......but to each her own!! I would say that coconut oil may take more than 30 minutes to penetrate the hair simply because the oil is not like water which is easily taken up, it is thought to penetrate by squeezing (meaning it needs to reshape itself) to get underneath the cuticle layers.
ReplyDeleteInteresting video, made me smile!
I've been oiling with coconut oil the night before I wash for over a year and I love it. I think it's one of the key things that has improved my hair (along with gentle handling). I'll always keep it in my regimen.
ReplyDeleteI have been doing this along with placing a plastic bag over my head for a good while now. Works wonders!!!!!
ReplyDeletenice, always cool to hear great tips!
ReplyDeleteI was using olive oil like this with no success and the coconut oil has changed the texture of my hair. I love it! Thanks for doing the video!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you ladies enjoyed the video.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jc for that interesting fact. I never knew you had to "squeeze" the oil into the hair in order for it to penetrate. Cool.

How often is this done?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the video, I have the same coconut oil but now I have a new way to use it. I appreciate the hair advise, thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Blue Magic Coconut Oil? Is that ok to use? Just asking because I already have it....otherwise I will go out and buy the one EVCO from GNC.
ReplyDeleteThanks for post. I also like coconut oil. Instead of using a cocktails of oils in my last deep condition I used ORS Hair mayo and melted coconut oil. (I must admit I also prefer to wrap my hair rather then just use a shower cap.) I find it works better. then I went under a hooded dryer for 20 min and I could not stop touching my hair afterwards. It felt so soft.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I'm a new member, just joined one minute ago, I'm joining the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThis lady is so sweet!
