How to Moisturize and Seal Your Hair

Saturday, November 22, 2008

Quick tutorial on how to Moisturize and Seal your hair to prevent dryness and breakage. This method ensures your ends and hair stay soft and moist. I've been faithful to it and it has been working like a charm! Just wanted to share it with you all.

I used:

Wave Nouveau Moisturizing Finishing Lotion (my favourite moisturizer)
Hot Six Oil as my sealent.

For you ladies in the Moisturize & Bun for Length Challenge on HAIRLISTA Inc. Social Network, this is a really good way to moisturize and seal.

  5. Excellent video, I'm going to try it this week. Is this something you do once a week, daily or what? Also, what happened to the Hairlista site? I tried to get my fix for the day and it was gone!
Thanks for all the great advice!

  9. This is great information that I've been needing for awhile. Is the Hot Six Oil the only sealent that you'd reccommend? And have you recently permed your hair?

  11. @ ErynMyisha - Thanks hun!!

@ Ebony - Yes, you can do this method on natural hair.

@ Monique - The Moisturize and Bun challenge is on Hairlista Inc (Hairlista.com). Its in the group section. Thank you for watching my videos.

@ Amina - Aww thanks girl. I love Mariah back in the 90's. It brings back so many memories for me too.

@ Wonder mom of 2 - I do this at least once a day.

@ Jmilz86 - My hair absorbs the moisture. It will look kinda heavy/shiny but it has movement.

@ Evanny - Don't worry about it girl. Its all about trial and error.

@ Stephanie - There are many more oils that you can use other than Hot Six Oil i.e. Safflower oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Castor Oil, etc.

@ Wynsters the tigress - Your welcome! I'm glad you found Hairlicious too :-)

  16. Just purchased the Wave Nouveau and will try using the Nutiva Coconut Oil I already have just because I need to use it up but I love the way your hair looks! How long have you been using this product combo and how often do you relax? I am currently stretching to 12 WKS (I'm currently at 10wks post-relaxer) but used to relax every 8wks before starting my growth journey 2mos ago. So far, I'm loving what I see - thanks for sharing your tricks!
