What is Cyclopentasiloxane ?

Cyclopentasiloxane is a silicone fluid commonly used in hair conditioners.

What does it do for the hair?

It is known to make the hair easier to brush. This ingredient lubricates and provides the hair with a wet slippery feel preventing breakage. Cyclopentasiloxane is also an emollient, meaning it helps to soften the hair. It is water-thin and can easily evaporate.

Which products contain this Ingredient?

1. Herbal Essences Replenishing Conditioner
2. Biotera Mositurizing Reconstructor
3. Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-in Creme

  5. Hey Sunshyne love the site. Just found it late last night. I have a blog of my own about natural and organic skin care products. I was doing research on "Siloxane" and 'they' did animal test that revealed this was linked to tumor formation, endocrine disruption, and skin irritation @ moderate doses. -cosmeticsdatabase.com- then I learned that Proctor and Gambles' Pantene conditioners line dropped cyclopentasiloxane as one of their ingredients replacing it with bis-amino dimethicone. Let me know what you think about this. Love your site girl. Keep in touch. What you say is DEAD ON.
    My best, Lynn
