My 1 Year Hair Care Journey Anniversary!!
Wednesday, October 08, 2008One year ago today, marks the day that I decided "enough is enough" and started to take care of my hair. I've had a couple struggles yet gained a lot of knowledge throughout my journey. My hair idols, BabygurlNC, SistaSlick, Sylver2, Loveya4eva, and Traycee kept me motivated. I`m so grateful. APL is where I am right now, BSL is where I plan on being Early 2009. I have 1 more relaxer to go for the year, YAY!
Here is a comparison shot:

@ Hair Gurl, LHDC, MF - Thank you, thank you, thank you.
My hair looks see through like yours in the beginning on your journey. I'd love to know how you maintained and nurtured your nape growth back to health. This is my weak area as well as others, I'm sure. I currently wet bun b/c that's the only way I can get my hair to lay down, drying loose 6+ weeks post is a no go! I'm wondering if my wet bunning is hurting more than helping? etc.etc.
ReplyDeleteThe back is the hardest and sometimes the most neglected area on your head. I didn't do anything special. I just trimmed my ends after I took that photo and then began my regimen.
ReplyDeleteBaby that area and take your time when applying your deep conditioner, leave-ins and moisturizers. If you have to do it in sections then do it. Damp (not dripping wet)bunning is good for retaining moisture. Just don't pull the nape too tight when your damp bunning as this can lead to breakage.
You can also air dry in twists.
Thanks! I will air dry a little while before bunning instead of doing it pretty much still soaking.
ReplyDeleteHappy Hair Anniversary!!! I know you have been told this a lot but your hair is just beautiful!
